Don’t Miss Emily Bastian Present Thursday March 28th at the Veazie Salmon Club!    Open to the Public starts @ 5:30PM  

Emily is an active Board Member for the Native Fish Coalition and will be presenting on the many threats facing our native fish including salmonids and the most effective ways to combat those threats.  The Native Fish Coalition’s intent is to find common ground wherever possible and work with as many organizations, government agencies, businesses and clubs. Their approach is data-driven, and they use information and education, research, habitat restoration and enhancement, reclamation and regulations to promote complete and long-term solutions.

Emily Bastian is the General Manager for Trident Fly Fishing.  She is a registered Maine guide and has fly fished since she was eight years old.  Emily is a degreed Ecologist and has worked as a National Park Ranger, Maine Game Warden, law enforcement officer and field biologist.  She worked for Maine Audubon from 2011 to 2016 where she was responsible for the Maine Brook Trout Survey Project which identified previously unknown populations of wild brook trout in remote ponds and coastal streams.  Emily was also the General Manager at Appalachian Mountain Club’s (AMC) Gorman Chairback Lodge.  She has taught fly fishing and archery at L.L.Bean Outdoor Discovery Schools and holds a second-degree black belt in karate.  Emily enjoys hiking, backpacking, hunting, and cross-country skiing.
