A Father’s Day Tribute – Veazie Salmon Club
To all Fathers of the Veazie Salmon Club—those with us still, and those whose memory runs strong like the river we love:
On Sunday we will pause to honor the quiet strength, the steady hands, and the faithful hearts of the men who have guided us—not just through water and woods, but through life.
You taught us more than how to cast a line or mend a net. You showed us how to listen, how to be present, how to find peace in the stillness, and grace in the waiting. You taught us that some of the most important things—like love, faith, and time spent with family—can’t be hurried, measured, or replaced. Fathers teach how to be patient when things don’t go our way, how to celebrate the catch and laugh at the ones that got away, and how to find God in the sunrise, in the silence, and in the stories we pass down.
To the fathers who’ve walked before us, thank you. To the fathers who stand among us, we are grateful. To the fathers yet to be, may you carry the same light, strength, and soul.
Happy Father’s Day, from all of us at the Veazie Salmon Club—where family, tradition, and the spirit of the river live on forever.
