With hearts heavy and eyes misted, join me in bidding farewell to a soul who brought more joy to all our lives than words can ever truly hold — beloved Buddy.
From the moment he first set paw at the Veazie Salmon Club, Buddy wasn’t just a dog — he became our spirit, our greeter, our quiet confidant. He lived the values we hold dear: loyalty, warmth, kindness, and a deep, abiding love for the simple beauty of life by the river. He didn’t need to speak to be heard. His tail wag and loving unselfish eyes said more than any words ever could.
Buddy loved everything about The Veazie Salmon Club — from the ratty old couch, to his front step perch, to listening to the laughter and conversations of old friends and new. He met every member and visitor with unfiltered joy, made guests feel like family, and somehow seemed to know just whenever someone needed the comfort only a dog can give.
He embodied everything The Veazie Salmon Club stands for — not through words, but through presence. Through being there. Through loving unconditionally.
Saying goodbye is hard — impossibly hard — but let us all find some solace in knowing Buddy’s spirit will always live here. In the rustling leaves, the ripple of the Penobscot, the wag of a tail we might imagine just behind us. He’ll forever be part of The Veazie Salmon Club, of our memories, of who we are.
So, run free now, dear Buddy.
Thank you for blessing us with your heart, your joy, your love.
We will never forget you.
We will always love you.
Goodbye, sweet friend.
